Hobbies
I have a number of hobbies which I pursue, I love woodworking and in particular wood turning and carving, I also enjoy furniture restoration for the income it produces to enjoy the other hobbies. I paint in a modest way in water colour, pastel and Chinese brush style. I have painted in oils but found I needed to concentrate on fewer styles and methods.
In addition I did breed cockatiels and hand rear the babies for sale as fully weaned and socialised pets. I now have only a Quaker parrot male called Endee, and it was this bird which started my interest in caring for them as pets, and a cockatiel called Foehn.
This is one of my earlier turning pieces, made for an Easter competition within the Shropshire Association of Woodturners. The basket was made with a combination of lathe and router mounted on the lathe in a home made fixture. The eggs are in an assortment of woods.
