Cook Family
The Cook family originated in Painswick and Miserden in Gloucestershire with my grandfather moving to Rodborough sometime in the early 1900‘s following his marriage to Annie who came from Nailsworth. The family was basically an agricultural labouring or husbandry group though grandfather Arthur James was at one time a gardener and then a coachman. My father became a shoe maker and married Marie who coincidentally also came from the Nailsworth/Forest Green area. Much research has been done into the Cook family but matters are still unclear as church records seem to be lacking in information. We do however have tenuous link going back to the marriage of John Cook and Martha Riddler in 1781.
